The Alde “wet” heating system fitted to caravans and motorhomes is loved by owners, many saying they would never go back to a “blown air” system.
In the worst case scenario, when the inhibitors in the antifreeze become weak, the boiler can corrode to the point where it fails and will no longer work. This is a super expensive item to replace. Parts of the system may no longer work (for example 240v heating) You may also find that heat transfer is less effective.
We provide the service and antifreeze, this depends on the size of the vehicle. A fixed workshop will naturally charge more than a mobile engineer.
We charge from £180.00 (avg 12.5 ltrs)
including Alde approved antifreeze.
This will vary depending on who carries out the task. A fixed workshop will naturally charge more than a mobile engineer.
We can leave the old antifreeze for you to dispose of or we will charge a small fee for the service.A 500ml top-up bottle can be purchased at the end of the service.
This is how self-convection works
In our heating system, we make use of the fact that hot air naturally rises upwards, so-called self-convection. The convectors heat up the air, which rises and heats the walls and furniture as well as forming an air barrier between the windows to keep the cold out. When the warm air reaches the ceiling, it circulates down and inwards towards the floor and is reheated by the convectors. In this way you obtain gentle, quiet and efficient heating in the vehicle.
Once the service has been completed, we will leave you with a service sheet and a label for future reference and to identify the required date of the next service.
